#gladstonehotel #mamiya #fish #partraiture #johncurrin #anzhyn I've got my photograph at @gladstonehotel for a month. Very excited about it, also because it is for a good cause: there'll be a silent auction on May 15th where 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Rainbow Railroad helping LGBTQ individuals who face the risk of violence, imprisonment, or death.

One of the pieces that I designed for the Online feminist conference: Woman in modern world that is taking place in late September. I look forward to it too because it is open to everyone! Well, you need to understand Russian language :)

Shooting the cover for this issue was a lot of fun! First time in a studio environment. Issue #4 of Women in Politics New Approaches to the Political is out! It reflects on the private as the (in)visible public. The authors investigate how public discourse and its governmental and sociocultural representations control private lives.

Me according to a skilled artist who made this ultra-quick sketch (he hardly spent 5 seconds!) while taking my coffee order.

The Status of Women Committee at work invited me to the conference this year as I worked on a design for it. Of course I went, had a great time with intelligent and wonderful women, and attended two workshops! As well, my poster for December 6 Remembrance Day was on display. I am always happy to work on human rights, gender or women's issues at work; and this assignment was very special for me.
"It has been 25 years since a lone gunman forced the females in a second year engineering class at École Polytechnique to line up against a wall. Twenty-eight women were shot, 14 women were killed. The Montreal Massacre of December 6, 1989 is a black mark in Canadian history. The rose, which has become the symbol of December 6, is different this year. It is not glamorous nor is it whole. It is disturbing; as were the events of December 6, 1989. It is unfinished; as were the lives of the 14 murdered women; as is our work to end the ongoing Violence against Women." Update

I can't wait to go to this training tomorrow! A lot of work, fantastic team and here we go! Blu Matter Project. I worked on a layout and design of the textbook, posters and some other stuff.

I started collecting photos of everyday life, ordinary objects and non-places in an Instagram project Ordinary Cycles. Join!
"The community of human destinies is experienced in the anonymity of non-place, and in solitude" - Marc Augé, Non-places. One ordinary cycle at a time.

We did it! Issue #3 of Women in Politics New Approaches to the Political is out! It explores the gendered effects of the Public/Private divide and investigates what can be revealed if the notion of “Public” approached as the politicized “Private”. I work on layout and the cover artwork.

Girls 20 Summit kicks in today in Australia just shortly before the G20 2014 starts! I was lucky to be a little help by volunteering as a Graphic Designer. Girls 20's goal is to economically empower girls and women around the world. I met many great people working with them. Visit their website to find out more about what they do.

An update from the Brooklyn Art Library. I could not go to Brooklyn to see the exhibit but now it is possible to check it out on their official flickr page. Somehow they decided to take three of mine pictures. Youpiii! I have already posted one and voilà two more. There will be another exhibition in November too.

Yesterday there was an official launch of the Blu Matter project – a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to support people living with Depression and/or Bipolar Disorder. The first round of recipients has already started their yoga practice!
I feel so grateful and lucky to be a part of that project volunteering as Graphic Designer. There are so many great people involved!

Tomorrow A Million Little Pictures | Analog exhibition opens in Brooklyn Art Library for two days.
A Million Little Pictures is a project about capturing the world around you in different light. Participants were provided disposable cameras with 15 shots. Only two will be used to display to the public. I still don't know which two of my set of photographs will be on display but will find out soon.

Yesterday we picked up Women in Politics', Vol. 2, Personal is Political issue.
The cover art presents a street-art styled portrait of Nadia Khodasievitch-Léger, the suprematist (modernist) female artist of Belarusian descent whose art inspired Ferdinand Léger, Pablo Picasso and others. That was my first stencil art project and I enjoyed making it.

On February 22nd at 12pm Eastern Standard Time, thousands of strangers from around the world sat down for a bite in unison and captured a shared experience at the exact same time. Here is my submission to the Meal 2013 project. Unlike my submission of 2012 this one doesn't contain an actual meal. I decided not to take any meal that day in solidarity with those who hunger.
Enlarged picture as well as over 5,000 of other submissions can be found on official Art house Co-op flickr page.

The Things Found Series of the Art house co-op is a photography series where the aim is to capture an image of a common space. Something found be accident on the way to work, while sitting at a coffee shop, or maybe on an adventure.
I found this dollhouse while I was simply walking and taking pictures with my Diana+ camera for the first time. A plastic house shot with a plastic camera. Here is my submission and plenty of other interesting founds from all over the world.

2012 Sketchbook Project Limited Edition Book has been released! The serie is available in five volumes and organized by theme (two themes per volume). Each volume is filled with spreads from all the sketchbooks participants contributed to the 2012 Limited Edition Sketchbook Project.
I have just received my copy of Vol 2, Distance & Time and Time & the Way We Travel with a spread from my sketchbook Chaos. It is on page 24 by the way.
